The Christ Central story began in August of 1992.
Prayer meetings
were held in the basement of a church in downtown Columbia
for 96 weeks. Then, in June of 1994, a man came asking for
food. The next day five more came, and the numbers continued
to grow.
Christ Central has continued to grow and expand its services
to include: hot meals, food distribution, clothing
distribution, shower and laundry facilities for the
homeless, job placement assistance, family shelters, men's
shelters, women and children's shelters, children's
ministries, domestic violence assistance, job training,
continuing education, and higher education.
Today, Christ Central Ministries consists of 10
Mission Stations,
Christ Central Institute, and
Christ Central Kids Kamps.
